Second, let’s talk about something that doesn’t always make it into the welcome packet: relocation incentives. Maryland, along with its counties, offers some perks that can save you money when you’re buying a home here.

Transfer & Recordation Tax Exemptions for Disabled Veterans
Certain disabled veterans may be exempt from transfer and recordation taxes when buying a home. (And if you’ve ever seen those tax lines at closing, you know this is big money 💸.)

Beyond the exemption we covered Monday, some counties offer additional property tax credits specifically for veterans and military families.
County-Level Incentives:
Because this is Maryland, every county has its own twist:
Anne Arundel County (hello, Fort Meade!) → Additional credits for disabled veterans and surviving spouses.
